For over 30 years, the Haldensleben branch of the Society of German Rose Lovers (Gesellschaft Deutscher Rosenfreunde e.V.) and the KulturHeimat e.V. association have been organising the ‘Open Gardens Day’ in Haldensleben and the surrounding area. This usually takes place over several days in June, at the time of the first rose blooms, when amateur gardeners – not just rose enthusiasts – open their little plant paradises to visitors. The idea originated in England and already has a long tradition in that country of gardeners. Visiting other people’s gardens – which you wouldn’t normally be able to enter – to gather inspiration and tips and to chat with other gardening enthusiasts – that is the idea behind the ‘Open Gardens’.
This year, the Open Gardens in Haldensleben will take place on 13–14 June 2026 and on 20–21 June. Please make a note of these dates. The list of gardens will be published here on this page in May. Of course, a leaflet containing all the information about the Open Gardens event will be available again.
We, the KulturHeimat e.V. association, look forward to welcoming more like-minded people. Anyone wishing to open their garden to the public can contact us via the ‘Contact’ section on this website: kulturheimathaldensleben.de.
