The Haldensleben Friends’ Circle has been in existence for over 35 years. Our society regularly brings together people who are interested in the diverse genus Rosa (the rose) – historic roses, naturalised, single-flowered roses, roses that can climb trees or find a home in even the smallest of gardens. Of course, we’re also interested in companion plants, such as perennials and grasses, garden design issues, and the importance of roses in nature – for insects, for example.
The Haldensleben Friends’ Association regularly organises talks, rose discussions, excursions and garden visits for members and guests, with the aim of broadening their knowledge of roses and meeting like-minded rose enthusiasts.
The focus is on providing advice and information on all aspects of roses, as well as on the use and care of roses and their companion plants. Anyone interested is always warmly welcome to attend any of the events.
The German Rose Society (e.V.) supports the work of the Friends’ Associations, in particular by
- the organisation of public seminars, lectures, specialist conferences, other educational events and workshops, as well as rose shows with an educational focus, for the purpose of knowledge transfer and professional development
- the regular publication of relevant materials for use in teaching and further training.
